Asia Privacy Bridge Forum Background
Data is said to be the engine of the 4th industrial revolution. Since personal information is essential for big data analysis, countries and regions around the world are competing to strengthen the legal system for its protection and usage. Some notable personal information laws include the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the China Network Safety Act, and the Vietnam Law on Cybersecurity. Barun ICT recognizes that it is more effective to respond jointly in cooperation with Asian countries. Accordingly, in order to bridge the work of other Asian countries in this area, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, Korea Internet & Security Agency, and Barun ICT Research Center established the Asia Privacy Bridge Forum (APB Forum).
